I think my youngest daughter deserves to win the zhu zhu pet because she is allergic to animals so we cant have a pet. So when she saw these on tv she asked for one for christmas so she can have a pet like all of her friends.

I asked my 8 year old daughter what she wanted from Santa this year. She said she wanted a Zhu Zhu Pet. I said “wow, honey, those are so hard to find, I’m not sure if Santa can even get his hands on one. They are sold out everywhere.” Her reply was “But, mom, even I can get them on Amazon.com for around $35.00! I already checked it out!!!” How do I respond to that!

I would LOVE a Zhu Zhu pet of my very own!!  These are the cutest little things that have come out in a very long time and I can’t get one because all the stores are sold out.

Through rain, through snow, through dark of night, I have fought with every other mother in town….. and still no pet to call my own.

I promise I will look after it and talk it for walks.  I’ll even tuck it in at night, if that’s what it takes to get my own Zhu Zhu.

Why do I want to win a Zhu Zhu pet?

Frankly, it’s because I want to avoid being in something like this:

I really have to win this contest. I have two soon to be three kids and they both want a Zhu Zhu so badly this year. BUT I can’t find one anywhere.  The shops have sold out and despite offers of bribes etc nobody can seem to get me one never mind two.

I have told my children that as everyone wants one of these cute little creatures, they may have to share and while they weren’t over happy they understand.

I can’t bear the thought of waking up Christmas morning and trying to explain to my kids that Santa’s mommy Zhu Zhu didnt have enough babies to go round this year and that his IOU will be good in the shops in January

My kids are good kids so please enter me in to win.

I sooo want the Zhu Zhu Pet for my 6 and 2 year old! In November I went to a total of 6 stores all over town trying to find a Zhu Zhu pet for my daughters B-day, but all i ended up with were all of the accessories….And no Zhu Zhu pet.

In fact, i purchased the fun house, the hamster garage,the wobble ball, the surfboard, and the blankets in pink, orange, green, and blue! I did this thinking that i will eventually end up finding these little rascals somewhere in town. After the thrid time trying at Toys R Us, they told me to come in Friday because they were getting their shipment. I was in line on Friday 30 minutes before they opened and of course there were several other moms with a face of anger, ready to take on anyone in front of them as soon as the doors opened.

As soon as the doors opened, every one, including me and my 7 month baby bump and two year old on my hip were sliding across the aisle to the Zhu Zhu section…AND…. as soon as we turned the corner into the aisle…IT WAS EMPTY!!

I mean, really? Why? Apparently they didn’t arrive that morning and they weren’t sure when the would get the next shipment, SO….Needless to say, I went and returned EVERY accessory i had purchased and now were out of them and the Hamsters.

Since my oldest didn’t get it for her B-day, she really thinks Santa is going to bring it in for Christmas this year, but “momma” can’t afford the high prices that they are going for.

Pick ME and my girls will have an exciting Zhu Zhu filled Christmas!!

I deserve to win it because I will feed it really well.

This is a really great toy and my little one loves them, in fact, we all love our zhu zhu pet hamster.

You see, my daughter’s friend had a real hamster. It grew from almost nothing, and during that time she had to learn to care for it, but this was good as it also taught her the responsibilities needed to care and provide for a living being. Weekly cleaning of the cage, daily feeding and watering soon brought home that this was a real animal with needs and requirements. And it’s life dependended on it. Can’t take a week out on holidays, it’s each week and every week.

But one day the inevitable happened, and the hamster was no more. Her friend discovered perhaps too early in her little life the things that perhaps her parents may have preferred her to experience later,  a little older perhaps. I cannnot say that the experience of death, albeit of a loved pet, was a good thing at her tender age.

Zhu Zhu Pets offer the fun and responsibilty of looking after a hamster without that responsibility.

These furry, artificial Pets look real enough, and yes they do run around their habitrail tracks
very convincingly. They offer companionship, interaction, and a similar need for care. Ok, parents here may need to enforce that a bit, but that’s not difficult if you share with them the cuddling of it, and show that it may be a real hamster.

And the most important feature of this for us, is that these little furry loving creatures don’t pose any problems at all to our daughter who has allergic reactions to cat fur. We don’t know if she would show the same skin problems to a real hamster, but this way we don’t need to find out the hard way. And there’s no smell, no real food needed, and if and when she may grow out of it, well, there’s no need for a private ceromony at the bottom of the garden with a spade.

These small, furry, look-a-like hamsters (ok, they do run on batteries) are the latest craze that  has already gone out of control. They are very life like hamsters, each has it’s own personality, and they even make different sounds based on the preference of the child, depending how they adjust the  settings, and no doubt, they’ll all have their own favourites which is good, because that means your neighbours won’t sound the same.

Your young one will learn the responsibilities needed for caring for things, and it’s a great thing to learn. And, no smelly cages, or problems with holidays – either take it with you (no problem when booking in somewhere!) or you can leave it a little extra food knowing that when you return, batteries permitting, it will be alive and well.

This toy really has a purpose, at least it does in our home.

The reason I want to win the zhu zhu pet giveaway is for the utter chaos that will reign supreme on Christmas day when the kids open their Christmas gift of the zhu zhu pet.  Here’s the scenario I envision:

We get up early Christmas morning.  After all, a 22 month old and almost 4 yo just aren’t going to sleep in late.  As we sit around the Christmas tree opening gifts, the oldest will finally get to her zhu zhu pet present.

Now, just see the piles of gift paper scattered around the living room floor and the adults trying to keep five cats at bay away from the new toys and those delightful piles of paper.  With help from her uncle, our little one will get her hamster running around on the floor.

Guess who will be the first to see the new varmint running around?  Right.  The cats.

Zip!  There they go!

Zhu zhu pet scampering around through the paper.  Cats hot on its tail.  And then the 3yo and her little sister chasing the cats chasing the mechanical hamster.  Cat hisses.  High-pitched squeals.  Screams of laughter.  Fights between the cats over who gets it.  Mom,  uncle, and granddaddy chasing the girls trying to keep any mishaps from happening.  Christmas gift wrap going every which way flying through the air.  Keep your fingers crossed for the Christmas tree.

Yep, utter chaos on Christmas day from the lovely winning prize of the zhu zhu pet giveaway.  It will be fun.
